Kir Royale from Episode 50
About the Recipe
Our cocktail to celebrate our 50th episode is ooolala, from France. It's called Kir Royale, named after Felix Kir, a French priest and politician who popularized the drink in the 1940's. It's a deliciously festive drink made even more festive with the addition of lustrous (food safe) gold dust!

1/2 ounce liqueur (Bootie likes Whidbey Island Distiller's blackberry liqueur but Chambord or Creme de Cassis would work as well)
6 ounces sparkling white wine such as Prosecco or Bossy's sommelier at Ye Old Yankee Spirits recommends Barton and Guestier's Blanc de Blanc
A sprinkling of food grade gold dust such as this one at Sur la Table
Raspberry or blackberry for garnish (optional)
Pour the liqueur into a glass and add the gold dust (it might sink to the bottom but the bubbles will lift it up), then add sparkling wine and garnish with a berry if you have it! Cheers!
