Three Dots and a Dash from Episode 62

Episode 62Bootie and Bossy
00:00 / 39:52

About the Recipe

Originally invented by Don Beach, this refreshing Tiki cocktail gives a nod to WW2 with its clever 3 dots and a dash garnish (the three cherries and lime slice representing the morse code for V for victory).

We were inspired by this recipe from liquor.com. Ours is a simplified version, using what we had in our liquor larders:

2 ounces spiced rum

1/4 ounces velvet falernum

1/2 ounce honey syrup (equal parts honey and water)

1 lime, juiced (save a small piece for the garnish)

1 small orange, juiced

3 dashes angustora bitters

3 maraschino cherries, for garnish

For garnish: spear a small piece of lime for the dash, then spear 3 maraschino cherries on spear.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, pour in everything but the garnish, shake for 30 seconds, then pour into cocktail glass and lay garnish over top of glass.
